# Treasury contract

**Treasury**

The Treasury contract in the OpenX protocol serves as a central storage for the protocol's treasury assets.

It is responsible for managing and facilitating the funds of the OpenX protocol to ensure the liquidity of the $OPEN tokens in the open market and acts as a safe vault for all funds collected by the treasury, including assets such as stablecoins, mainstream cryptocurrencies, popular DeFi tokens, and native assets.

It supports various treasury fund pool strategies, including liquidity mining, stablecoin deposits to earn interest, and tokenization of real-world assets.

The Treasury contract also plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability and growth of the OpenX ecosystem by providing funding guarantees and promoting the long-term healthy development of the protocol and $OPEN tokens

**Rebase Epoch**

The rebase epoch is a key concept in the OpenX protocol that determines the frequency at which the rebase mechanism is triggered. The rebase mechanism adjusts the supply of $OPEN tokens to maintain price stability.

The rebase epoch represents the time interval between two consecutive rebases.

During each rebase epoch, the protocol calculates the rebase ratio based on the deviation of the $OPEN token price from the target price.

If the price deviates significantly from the target, the protocol adjusts the supply of $OPEN tokens through a rebase operation.

The rebase epoch is an essential component of the OpenX protocol's price stabilization mechanism, ensuring that the supply of $OPEN tokens is dynamically adjusted to maintain price stability
